Suspected Bobcat Who Shut Down A School Turns Out To Be A Rare Housecat
2024/02/12

A high school in Pennsylvania experienced an unexpected early dismissal when a cat was spotted on campus. School officials, fearing it might be a bobcat, dismissed classes to protect students and staff while looking for the wild cat. Wildlife officers eventually captured the feline after a two-hour search, only to discover it was not a bobcat but a rare cat breed called a Clouded Jack. The cat, named Kakashi, had been missing from home for three months and was taken to a local animal shelter. Thanks to his microchip, Kakashi was reunited with his owner, Sheanine Johnson. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of microchipping pets, as it helps facilitate their safe return in case they get lost.
