Kobe Bryant was known for his hardcore mentality and punishing trash-talkers. Spanish basketball star Ricky Rubio found himself challenged by Kobe before the London Olympics in 2012. Despite being confident, Rubio ended up settling for silver after a bet with Kobe about the gold medal. Despite this, there was no bad blood between the two as Rubio sought comfort in Kobe's wisdom after suffering an injury. Rubio announced his retirement from the NBA on January 4th, 2024.
