Florida Man Jailed After Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash Claims Teen's Life

A Florida man, Edgardo Joel Rosado Perez, has been arrested after allegedly fleeing the scene of two crashes, resulting in the tragic death of 18-year-old Bartow high school student Zachariah Mark Clabough. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Perez was involved in a minor crash after dropping off his daughter at school. He then fled at high speed and fatally struck Clabough, who was walking to the same school. Perez drove away from the scene, parked his damaged vehicle at home, and then fled in another car. He was later apprehended at a local mall.

The victim's family is devastated by the loss, as it comes just years after Clabough's father was killed by a drunk driver. The suspect remains in custody, while a fundraiser for the victim's funeral expenses has exceeded its initial goal.
