Here’s How RZA Reacted When He Found Out Rihanna And A$AP Rocky Named Their First Born After Him
2024/04/02

Wu-Tang Clan's RZA spilled the beans about how touched he was to learn Rihanna and A$AP Rocky named their son after him.

The Brooklyn legend recently sat down with CNN for an interview where he discussed multiple topics, one being his feelings about another high-profile person being named after his stage name "RZA"– Rihanna's son.

"It's a great honor to know that there's another generation that's not even of my own household that feels the strength and the inspiration of that name," he said in the interview.

"RZA is only a name, it's a title. So it's an honor and I salute her and A$AP and their family. All the blessings in the world from me."

In January 2022, the 35-year-old broke the internet when she revealved her first pregnancy with her boyfriend A$AP Rocky. The lovebirds decided to do a photoshoot in Harlem, the hometown of the "Brand New Guy" artist. The Fenty founder posed with baby RZA in a long pink coat that she left unbuttoned to show off her baby bump with gold and colorful jewels draping across her body and jeans. Her fashionable beau stood next with a black beanie, jean jacket and white hoodie.

After keeping their first born's name private, A$AP Rocky let the cat out the bag in May on his first birthday when he posted some photos on Instagram to celebrate with the caption, "'WU TANG IZ 4 DA CHUREN 🤲' HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY TO MY 1st BORN . RZA❤️"

Naming their child after a rapper wasn't something new for the couple's family. Just like his son, A$AP Rocky was named after the iconic New York rapper Rakim according to Vibe. The power couple is expecting their second child, making RZA a soon-to-be big brother. The "Needed Me" singer surprised fans when she showed off her growing tummy in March during her Super Bowl 57 performance.

The gender of their second child is unknown, but is another music legend's name on the couple's radar? Fans will have to wait and find out.
