Country-soul superstar Chris Stapleton admits that he used to be a heavy drinker but has been largely sober for several years now. In an interview with GQ, Stapleton reveals that he fell into the trap of trying to live up to the image of a country singer-songwriter during his early years in Nashville. At 45 years old, he decided to change his ways for his own health. Stapleton's upcoming album, Higher, features a song called "The Bottom," which addresses the thought process that accompanies excessive drinking.
