’s oldest son, , 17, is following in her musical footsteps.
The rocker welcomed her first child with ex-husband on May 26, 2006 — followed by Zuma Rossdale in 2008, and Apollo Rossdale in 2014 — and he’s been making her proud ever since.
“It’s the in my entire life,” Stefani said shortly after becoming a mom. “He is just … a miracle. The whole thing … in the stomach, coming out, and then they’re … a human. It’s just weird, it’s incredible."
More recently, the "Rich Girl" singer looked back on her journey with her firstborn while speaking to PEOPLE for a cover story in September 2023.
"I took Kingston on a world tour [when he was 9 months old].
We did 120 shows. I would have to nurse him and then get on stage, and then come off and he would twirl my ponytail," she recalled.
Kingston's early exposure to the music industry clearly made an impact. The 17-year-old recently debuted his vocal skills to the public while in August.
"King has been writing a bunch of amazing songs. When it's your kid, it's like, you love everything, but this is next level to me. These are really good songs," Stefani told PEOPLE of her son's songwriting talent.
Whether he's skiing with his dad, fishing with his mom or exploring the acres of Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch, Kingston is always on an adventure, and Stefani is grateful to be along for the ride.
“I prayed and I waited my whole life to be a mommy — I'm so blessed that God chose me to be yours,” she in 2022.

Stefani became a mom for the first time on May 26, 2006, when she welcomed Kingston James McGregor Rossdale with then-husband Gavin in Los Angeles. at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center weighing 7 ½ lbs, Stefani’s rep told PEOPLE at the time.
Stefani is famous for trying out dramatic hair looks, and her son loves doing the same thing. A glance at his shows that he’s tried out a range of looks, from a bleach blond crew cut to a floppy purple look to more natural brown strands.
Stefani explained the origins of his bold fashion sense in . "It's one of those things where, it's not like I don't think about it, but they're used to being around me, and I'm always doing my hair, makeup, nails," she said.
"It's just normal for them,” she added. “What I like to say is that being unique and original is what makes me happy, and I think that rubs off on them."
Kingston is no stranger to the red carpet — he’s been making appearances since he was just a baby. From taking the stage at several of his mom’s L.A.M.B. fashion shows at New York Fashion Week (and sitting next to ) to the red carpet premiere in 2011 to rocking out backstage at his dad’s Bush shows, he’s a natural at the Hollywood lifestyle.
However, growing up around celebrities has also made him a very tough kid to impress. “They don’t really care about me as far as, like, any of that stuff goes,” Stefani said on in 2019.
Unless, of course, he can use that fame to make some interesting connections. “Mom, do you have ’, like, text? Like, can you text? ‘Cause I really want to play Fortnight with Ninja,” Stefani joked about a special request from Kingston. “And I’m like, ‘No, I’m not gonna text Ellen so you can play Fortnite!’ They try to use me sometimes.”
Gavin and Stefani ended their relationship in 2015 after 13 years of marriage when Kingston was 9 years old. Since then, he and his brothers have split time between both of their homes and Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch.
In a 2023 episode of the podcast, Gavin explained what it looks like . "I think you can go one of two ways — you can either do everything together and really co-parent, and see how that goes — or you can just parent. And I think we just parent," he said.
The rocker shared that he and his ex are “really different people,” but believes there’s value in sharing different perspectives with their kids.
“What's important is to give them a wide view of things — and we definitely have some particularly opposing views — so I think it'd be really helpful for them to make their own minds as individuals,” he added.
The country crooner became Kingston’s stepdad in 2021, but he developed a bond with him way before that.
“You got three boys? Awesome!” Shelton said at the in 2022 of dating Stefani. “My [step]dad did it. I could do this.
I didn't know what I was signing up for, but I was all about signing up for it … And every day I've as much as I do with Gwen."
He’s also said that becoming a father figure has “changed my perspective in that I’m not the first person that I think about anymore,” he told . “I got a more important job.”
As Kingston’s gotten older, he and Shelton have formed a close relationship, with the singer saying he “has a blast” with his stepkids and couldn't “imagine [his] life without these kids now.”
Kingston and his siblings have also been there to support Shelton and Stefani during their biggest moments.
At their , the boys posed for a with the newlyweds after they said "I do."
They were also in attendance to cheer on their stepfather when he in May 2023, an honor Stefani herself is in 2024.
Kingston is in a long-term relationship with his girlfriend Lola Albert, with whom he recently marked a sweet milestone.
“You’re everything I've ever wanted and more,” he wrote on in August 2023 on their sixth anniversary. “There’s no other way i would have wanted to spend these last six years. To many more together. Happy anniversary my beautiful girl.

Albert has clearly been welcomed into the family with open arms. When she turned 17 in April 2023, Stefani shared a sweet selfie on with her son’s girlfriend with the caption, "Happy 17th birthday to our [Lola.] We love u muffin. Love b&g.”
Kingston has had an interest in music since he was just a kid. In a 2009 interview with , Stefani shared that her then-3-year-old son was already a music fanatic. “Any song that comes on, he’ll get pissed if you turn the station,” she said.
“He’ll be like, ‘That’s my song! That’s my song!' ”
Now, Kingston is following in his parents’ footsteps and dipping his toe into the music industry. His first live performance was at Shelton’s Ole Red bar in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, and he crushed it.
“Love you guys, thank you for being here!” he said at the end of his set as his parents and the audience cheered him on. “Thank you, it means everything to me, really. I hope you guys had a great night, enjoy yourselves!” Shelton came up on stage to give his stepson a proud hug following the song.
As for his mom's reaction? "I was bawling," the singer told PEOPLE of watching her son on stage.
"It's crazy when you have children, and they learn what their gift is. You see their talent, and you're like, 'Wow.' I'm so happy for him that he has that outlet."
