Jelly Roll, the genre-bending star, will be returning to American Idol as a mentor for the upcoming season. He will be joined by Tori Kelly, a former Idol contestant, as they share their wisdom and advice with the Season 22 contestants. The mentoring sessions will take place at Aulani: A Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawai’i. Kelly got her start on Idol in Season 9 and this will be a homecoming for her. Jelly Roll has previously appeared on the show, performing his songs alongside other contestants. This will be his first time in a mentorship role. Fans can also expect to see Jelly Roll and Tori Kelly perform on the American Idol stage in the upcoming season.

The artists have not yet revealed what songs they will be performing. In a recent post, Idol contestant Oliver Steele expressed excitement about Jelly Roll’s mentoring skills. The season will feature emotional journeys and surprises, as seen in an audition clip featuring contestant McKenna Breinholt. She sang a powerful rendition of "There Was Jesus" by Dolly Parton and Zach Williams, which left the judges emotional. The audition took an unexpected turn when McKenna opened the door to find her birth family and adopted family waiting for her. Viewers will have to tune in to see if she advanced to the next round. American Idol Season 22 premieres on February 18th on ABC.
