Kim Mulkey frustrated with LSU's performance against Rice in NCAA Tournament opener
2024/03/27

Two days ago, LSU's women's basketball team faced off against the Rice Owls in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The game ended with the Tigers coming out on top with a final score of 70-60. Looking forward, they are gearing up to take on Middle Tennessee State in the next round.

Despite the victory, head coach Kim Mulkey was far from pleased. Her high expectations for the team were evident as she addressed them after the game. She didn't hold back in expressing her disappointment, highlighting the need for improvement, especially with a tough match against South Carolina looming in the distance.

Gathering the team together, Mulkey's voice echoed in the locker room as she voiced her concerns, "That’s not the same team that LSU put on the floor in the championship of the SEC tournament. We don’t have much time but that was a bad performance today, and I thought it was a lot of selfish play today. It starts with me getting them ready."

As they prepare to face Middle Tennessee State in the next round, the pressure is mounting. The atmosphere is tense as the players internalize Mulkey's words, pushing themselves to rise to the occasion.

With the game against Middle Tennessee State drawing closer, the Tigers take to the court with a renewed focus. Each player understands the weight of the upcoming challenge and is ready to give it their all.

The battle ahead is not just against their opponents but also against their own doubts. As the game unfolds, the Tigers are determined to showcase their resilience and character. Every possession becomes an opportunity to prove themselves, fueled by the trust and expectations of their coach. The court transforms into a stage for their determination and grit, as they face the test head-on.
