Among the many new characters introduced in The Vampire Diaries, Lexi Branson (Arielle Kebbel) was the most captivating, although her sudden death left fans in shock. Lexi first appeared in Season 1, Episode 8, "162 Candles," as she arrived in Mystic Falls to celebrate Stefan's 162nd birthday. Lexi quickly formed a close bond with Stefan, helping him control his Ripper tendencies. Despite her tragic death, Lexi's character had great potential to be a main character in the series due to her connections with both Salvatore brothers.
