REPORT: Kevin Costner Wants to Return to 'Yellowstone' — But Show Doesn't Want Him Back
2024/02/07

Kevin Costner's departure from the hit show Yellowstone due to a contract dispute made headlines in 2023. However, a new report suggests that Costner is now seeking to return for the show's final episodes, but the show may not be interested. Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan is reportedly happy with the storyline he has written without Costner's involvement. Filming is set to begin in a few months, with the episodes airing in November 2024, leaving a narrow window for a potential agreement. There are some indications that a return is possible, as Costner previously testified during his divorce that he had a pay-or-play contract worth $12 million for the second half of Season 5. Yellowstone also extended a public olive branch to Costner on his birthday via Instagram. The show's early ending allowed a planned plot twist for Season 6, which involved singer Cory Asbury playing a long-lost Dutton brother, to be scrapped.
