African Elephant Attack Leaves 80-Year-Old Woman Dead, Safari Truck Flipped
2024/04/03

Tragedy struck during a safari trip in Africa when an 80-year-old woman lost her life after an elephant charged the vehicle she was in, flipping it over and causing fatal injuries. The incident took place at Kafue National Park in Zambia, where a bull elephant rammed into the truck head-on, as captured in a dramatic video.

The woman, who remains unidentified, was part of a tour conducted by Wilderness Safaris, a conservation and hospitality company. The American tourist tragically lost her life in the attack, while another female guest sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital.

Four other guests were treated for minor injuries on-site and provided with trauma counseling.

The company explained that the guide's route was obstructed by terrain and vegetation, leaving them unable to avoid the elephant's charge. Wilderness Safaris described the incident as "extremely tragic" and conveyed their condolences to the victim's family.
