REPORT: New England Patriots Are 'Likely' To Trade Mac Jones This Offseason

Mac Jones’ time in New England seems to be coming to an end.

According to , the Patriots are “likely” to trade Jones in the coming weeks with the most likely outcome being that he ends up with a new team in 2024.

“Even though Bill Belichick is gone, Mac Jones — who lost the starting role and ended up third string by the end of the 2023 season — is a trade candidate in the coming weeks and most likely will end up elsewhere for the 2024 season,” wrote NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. 

The report adds that the Patriots, who have the No.

3 pick in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft will “seriously consider” taking one of the top three quarterbacks.

In 2023, Jones started 11 games and was benched for Bailey Zappe as the Patriots starter prior to the team’s Week 12 game against the Chargers. He did not play a single snap for the rest of the season. In fact, Jones was demoted to third string during the Patriots’ season-finale against the Jets.
