Jennifer Lawrence did not graduate high school or obtain a GED. The 32-year-old is currently promoting her new film, Caseway, at the 2022 Toronto Film Festival and discussed her "relationship with home" in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. Raised in Louisville, Kentucky, Lawrence convinced her parents to let her drop out of school at 14 to pursue acting. She related to the plot of Caseway and felt a personal connection to the film's themes of searching for purpose and home. In the movie, Lawrence portrays a US soldier struggling to reintegrate into her life after suffering a traumatic brain injury.

Additionally, Lawrence has been open about her own struggles in school, but always felt destined for acting. After taking a break, Lawrence is back in action and even producing. The film, directed by Lila Negebauder, is the first release from Lawrence's production company, Excellent Cadaver. Scheduled for release in November, Caseway explores themes of post-traumatic stress and childhood trauma. Lawrence and her husband, Cooke Maroney, have a son named Cy, named after artist Cy Twombly. The Toronto International Film Festival took place from Thursday to Saturday, September 18th.
