According to Randi Mahomes, the mother of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, her son does not actually wear the same pair of underwear during NFL games as previously believed. Randi clarified during a recent appearance on the "Got It From My Momma" podcast that Patrick wears the underwear from the time he leaves the house until he reaches the game, but not during the actual game itself. The revelation came after Patrick admitted to wearing the same red underwear for nearly his entire career during an appearance on the Manningcast. Randi, much like former NFL players Peyton and Eli Manning, was not a fan of the tradition when she first learned about it. However, she did mention that she couldn't handle the news and had to seek solace in a co-worker's office. As Mahomes and the Chiefs prepare for Super Bowl Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, it remains to be seen if the quarterback will break tradition and wear his superstition-laden underwear during the game.
