Casey Barnes Shares Frightening Car Crash Experience in Candid Post
2024/02/09

Casey Barnes has recently shared the details of a harrowing car accident that occurred earlier this week involving himself and his daughter, Charli. Fortunately, both of them escaped with relatively minor injuries, although Barnes emphasizes how lucky they were to walk away from the incident without more severe harm.

The incident took place on Thursday night as Barnes and Charli were on their way home. They had come to a stop at a set of traffic lights when an uninsured driver driving a large car crashed into the back of their vehicle, traveling at a speed of 70 kilometers per hour (44 miles per hour).

As a result, Barnes' car was violently propelled into the vehicle in front of them.

Following the accident, both Barnes and his daughter were promptly taken to the hospital. Although they felt sore and sorry for themselves, they suffered from concussion, cuts, bruises, and a rather severe case of whiplash. Barnes, however, expresses his gratitude that they were able to walk away from the incident and can now share their story.

Unfortunately, Barnes' Jeep sustained significant damage and is likely to be written off. Reflecting upon the incident, Barnes wrote on social media, "Definitely one of the scarier things to happen to me, especially when you're a father and one of your children is involved.

Grateful to the ambulance officers and police for taking such good care of us. Please drive safely out there on the roads."

In a playful conclusion, Barnes hinted that he would be more than happy for Toyota or Ford to consider sponsoring his upcoming tour, potentially providing him with new transportation. He included pictures of his wrecked car, himself wearing a neck brace, and a video showcasing the extent of the damage. The post can be viewed below.

In other news, Barnes recently achieved a significant milestone in his career. Last month, he was honored with his first ARIA gold record for his song "God Took His Time On You".

The award was presented to him at a sold-out concert during the Tamworth Country Music Festival. A representative from Chugg Music, an independent music company, surprised Barnes with the prestigious plaque while he was on stage.

Looking ahead, Casey Barnes is scheduled to perform at the Stagecoach Festival in California this coming April. Not only is he the sole Australian artist featured in the lineup, but he will also share the stage with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Post Malone, Eric Church, Morgan Wallen, Miranda Lambert, Jelly Roll, and Willie Nelson, among many others.

Lastly, Barnes felt it important to be transparent with his fans and inform them that he and his daughter were involved in a serious car accident.
